— ABOUT —
Danny Daneau is a man… medium size… British born… especially handsome after a couple cocktails. Surviving a series of terminal illness as a boy, he found an unquenchable appetite for stories about the dark side of growing up. With a MFA in Digital Cinema, Danny directed his first feature at age twenty-four — a coming-of-age thriller called, THE ATTIC DOOR. His work has played in over forty film festivals, won several awards, and is now available on streaming platforms such as iTunes and Amazon. Most recently, he can’t tell you about a half-hour comedy TV PROJECT he co-created and directed a pilot for that’s currently being edited… but he can’t talk about that yet!!
Currently, Danny lives in Los Angeles and serves as the Creative Director for production studio Kids At Play. Among the dozens of projects in active development, his recent credits with the company include producing THE TOLL TOAD with Lizzy Caplan and Martin Starr, producing 150 episodes of the syndicated talk series ME TIME WITH FRANGELA, writing/directing the digital series, ON THE LINE for Viacom Velocity — writing/directing an ad campaign for BUD LIGHT, and producing the half-hour kids series for Disney/YouTube Red, HYPERLINKED.
A restless storyteller, Danny also continues his personal career creating projects for both film and television. His feature script, HE CAME FROM YESTERDAY, was named one of the top 25 science fiction scripts of 2017 by The Page Awards. Most recently, his hour-long mystery series, THE BOY WHO KNEW TOO MUCH, was recognized by The Tracking Board Top 50 pilots and was also invited to be among the first participants for Film Independent's inaugural Episodic Lab.
Danny Daneau is married to writer-director Laura C. Lopez and together are also a husband and wife writing team who met in graduate school studying film. Their first feature film writing together, AMERICAN DREAMER, was recently selected amongst 4000 submissions to be part of Imagine Entertainment's prestigious Impact accelerator program.
